Well done again on finishing the season with a good 4-2 win. This ensured that we finished second in the table and will be promoted into a higher division next season.

It was fantastic to see so many of the squad at the game yesterday. As I said we do have the best group of players in the league. I would like to thank you all again for you attitude and commitment.

As mentioned there will be a mini inter Winslow United football tournament followed by a pig roast and player awards ceremony on Sunday 9th May. Full details are still to be finalised but please keep the afternoon free. Family & friends will all be welcome.

SUNDAY 18th WING RAIDERS V WINSLOW UNITED

Well here we go for the last game of the season.

As it is the last game it would be great if as many players could turn up as possible. The whole squad has been together for most of the season and it would be great if we can finish of with a win. A win will guarantee us 2nd place and promotion and for the whole squad to be there to enjoy the moment.

I appreciate that this means a few players will not be involved in the actual game but hopefully can take part in the celebrations! As we do need to win we will start with a strong line up.

As I would like you all to come then there is no need to list the squad. Please ONLY LET ME KNOW IF YOU CANT MAKE IT otherwise we will see you at wing at 1.15pm. The ground is right in the centre of the village on the A418. Address is Wing Recreation Ground, Leighton Road, Wing, Beds LU7 0NW.

TRAINING THURSDAY 15th

With the better light and ground conditions training will be at our home ground at ELMFIELDS in Winslow.

Training will be from 7.30 to 9.00pm. We have our last and still very important game on Sunday 18th away at Wing.

As it is still during the Easter break can you please confirm you are available for Training and if you are available for Sunday.

We have rec'd call from Swan Pool. The astroturf is waterlogged and they have closed it.

Another good performance yesterday afternoon well done. 2nd place and promotion now is very much in our own hands. A win next Sunday against Willen will do it!

Finally it looks like we will be playing a game at last.

The fixture is to be played at Halse United ground which is at Halse Grange Farm, Brackley Road, Halse, Northants NN13 6DY.

As we have a run of 5 away games and following some feedback from the team we have decided to only take 3 substitutes to these games. This does mean that we are "resting" more players but it does mean that hopefully all travelling players will have some involvement.

Surprise surprise training off again.

I have spoken to the manager of New City Saints and they have called Sundays game off. We did offer to switch game to the Winslow Centre but as they only have 7 games left to play they are happy to wait and try and play it at home, which is fair enough.

The above game has been rearranged to this Sunday 29th November. Kick off will again be 1.45pm.

This has had a knock on effect with the game against Wing Raiders being moved to JAN 3rd. CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE OK TO PLAY ON JAN 3rd. I know some people might be away

Sorry about late notice postponement of todays days game. There was a very heavy down pour between 11.30 and 12.30 that caused areas of the pitch to be waterlogged and with more rain forecasted the ground staff took the decision to call it off. To add to the delay I was not at home and in an area where my mobile had no signal.

I would like to thank John Dearlove and Kriss Williams for quickly helping out with the communication.

I will let you know when game is rearranged.

I would like as many as possible to be present for this game as we will be remembering Sam before the game. Parents all welcome and club house will be open for teas coffees or something stronger!

In terms of the team I know we have John and Achatz injured and Ben Dandy is unavailable. So if everyone else is available we will have a squad of 17. Remembering Sam Bradley

On the 16th November it will be 12 months since the tragic loss of Sam.

As individuals, a team and a club we will want to remember Sam and think of him and his family and friends.

We will be doing a fund raising run during training on Thursday 12th November in aid of the charity CRY. Please see attached sponsor form. I will also bring hard copies with me tonight at training and again on Sunday. We will also have a minutes silence before our home game on the 15th November

I mentioned to you a while ago that it was my intention to do a fundraiser for CRY this year. I have arranged it and talking to the girls yesterday realise I have chosen a significant date, Monday Nov 16th! It had eluded me that it was the actual anniversary.

If you feel it is appropriate, please can you circulate that I am having an Open House at Richmond Lodge, 1030am - 8pm.

There will be Coffee and cake, and the chance to do some early christmas shopping with Beautifully Different, Body Shop, Czechmarque jewellery and Phoenix Cards.

Hopefully we will raise a good amount for this very worthwhile cause
